been kinda hook onto eve online recently.. realize i played quite alot of mmorpg last/this yr.. most are free 1... but played 4 paid mmorpg... namely

FFXI, WOW, EVE online, City of Heroes/villian.. let this do a short review for each of them!

World of Warcraft - Tried last yr.. at that point of time, graphic was the best i ever seen for an MMORPG.. yea.. but as compared to de above games... it's actually rank 3rd out of 4. gameplay was pretty good, u can easily level up. Solo is pretty possible.. mission are plentiful and easy to find.. but they dun have a single story line like FFXI.. backgrd music was so-so. Ability to customize ur UI and user friendly is def a plus.

• Pros: User Friendly, above average graphic, great gameplay, decent missions, soloable, gamecard available in S'pore, able to create & store 50 characters!
  
• Cons: Rather steep purchase & subscription cost. Graphic deem 'unrealistic' & missions gets similar (kill X number of Y etc)
  

Verdict: Die must try it! No regrets!

Final Fantasy XI - Tried this yr... and i spend 3hours figuring out the controls... manual prove not so useful. graphic was 1st rated, probably rank it 2nd out of these 4. Music sounded recycled. Solo is highly undesirable! one unique point is u can have multiple jobs per character... but u can only have 1 character. you can have a maximum of 16 characters. Each additional char cost 1USD!

• Pros: Stunning graphic, 1 single deep storyline and numerous subplots, very FF style of interface (though more complex), 1st cross platform MMORPG
  
• Cons: Recycled sound, super unfriendly interface, super unfriendly registration process, upon level 10, it's unsoloable.

Verdict: Try only if u r a FFXI fanatic. Deeply disappointing
Level 22 Red Mage/Black Mage Hume

City of Heroes/Villian - i tried the trial recently and stop after an hour or so. Unique genre. But half the time i dunno what i'm doing... graphic was the worse out of this 4... interface.. rather chunky.. but not as bad as FFXI... u can download it's trial and give it a try before you buy though

• Pros: 14 days free trial, unqiue superhero/villian genre & able to build ur base and rob banks kind of stuffs
  
• Cons: Average music, average graphic, average storyline. Not really interesting

Verdict: Better off trying other game... the worse our of these 4 mmorpg.. not even worth the download and 14 day trial.
Level 3 Brute Villian, Level 2 Defender Hero

Eve Online - Still trying out it's free trial.. i must say this game is STUNNING! the graphic will blow you away! music is pretty good too! Agent combat mission are pretty challenging.. esp it will take quite some time to scan a SOLAR SYSTEM for your target. This game is house in ONE single server, as opposed to a dozen plus seperate servers. gameplay is interesting if u are keen on space genre. Lotsa way to earn money. Manufacturing, Mining, Missions & Bounty Hunting mainly. Interestingly, appx 17k-25k players login everyday, but i only see at most a dozen player at my solar system. how big is the map man.... Unique feature is u learn skills and accumulate skillpoints to get stronger, not thru level up by killing enemy etc.

• Pros: Stunning graphic and good music, interesting gameplay, super big map, soloable.
  
• Cons: Inteface can be abit overwhelming, steep learning curve, missions not encouraging.

Verdict: Worth your download and 14days trial, give it a try!
